Proud moment
Being recognized as a Unity Award winner at our company kick off this year!
The people will always be the most important part of this job for me. It feels a bit strange to get an award for something I don't really work that hard at, but it's very validating that I'm aligning the way I approach my work every day with my personal values.
Full storyAm I lucky?
I've been very fortunate, but I also recognize how much privilege I have.
I work hard and I think manifestation is powerful, but I would be remiss to not acknowledge my privilege as a middle-class, college-educated, cis white woman.
Full storyWhen I'm stressed, you might notice me…
having a hard time staying present in conversations.
When tensions are high, I sometimes get distracted by thinking about all of the things on my to-do list or trying to figure out a solution to a particular problem. If I seem distracted or distant, I'd really appreciate being called out on it!
Full storyI really admire teammates who are…
empathetic, patient, transparent, and good listeners
I think those qualities are fundamental to effective working relationships! Productivity and performance are absolutely important, but being able to trust (and be trusted by) coworkers is what pushes results to the next level.
Full storyMy Achilles Heel is…
I often have to fight to keep my attention focused on the right task(s)
I'm soooo easily distracted, and I can get off-subject really quickly
Full story😬😧🥴 Recently went outside my comfort zone…
Advocating for my own needs, especially when it feels confrontational.
Recently I had to psych myself up with a conversation with Michael to ask for more independence and ownership in my role. It was helpful to think very clearly about things I needed to do differently, ways my request would benefit him, and the best way to approach the conversation with Michael as a whole. I got a lot of insight from other leaders, and the conversation went better than I expected!
Full storyEpic work fails
ooooof i have a pretty long list of mistakes that keep me up at night...
lol ask me about the time rob walked by me slouching in my chair and said "you look comfortable" or the time i put an interview for another job on my calendar before i knew managers could see the details of their direct reports' calendar events
Full storyOne thing that might surprise you about me…
I'm an introvert!
I ~love~ brainstorming and collaborating and establishing really strong relationships, but I often need to take some time to decompress/recharge after lots of social interaction. I remember having one 3-hour long meeting with Michael, Web, and (I think) Patrick, and my brain was complete mush after that. Same story with kickoff and hackathon days! If I don't have that time to restore my batteries, I can sometimes come across as really irritable or scattered.
Full storyTeammates might misunderstand me as...
self-centered, lazy, pessimistic, annoying, chaotic, stubborn, dramatic
lolol ~trauma~ i get anxious about these things OFTEN, so I really appreciate when people are patient with me
Full storyBest way to get me excited about something
Ask me to brainstorm possibilities/opportunities!
Full storySomething that drives me crazy 😵💫 🤬
getting a ton of pings/notifications - that's why I usually mute my notifs
I know I'm very easily distracted, so even just those noises are enough to break my focus.
Full storyThings I'd love to learn
empathetic leadership, data analysis, productivity hacks

Full storyMy workplace setup
weird, but my desk is one of my favorite parts of my little garage house. my dad and i built it together using wood from my grandfather's land shortly after he passed away -- not only is it gorgeous and custom-made, but also super sentimental! also I love stanley tucci and his little smirk makes me feel like he's saying "you're doing great, kid. here, have a martini. you deserve it" every time I open a new tab. lip balm, coffee, my emotional support water bottle, and homey decorations are also a must for my wfh setup.
Full storyMy biggest fear
that enneagram 4 life, babyyyyyy
Full storyI work best as a…
give me brainstorming and forward-thinking all day every day! i'm less good at executing against a long to-do list, I think because there's less room for my imagination to run free
Full storyThe best environment for me is:
in a perfect world, I'd use my mornings to get 💩 done and my afternoons for meetings. I prefer to have meetings stacked closer together rather than having random 30-minute blocks between meetings because chances are, i'm going to end up on tiktok instead of doing anything productive.
Full storyI learn best by…
definitely a kinesthetic learner! i often need to take time to process and digest information before I can have a thoughtful conversation about it, and sometimes I need really abstract concepts explained to me more than once.

I'm always happy to share my perspective/experience or talk through a struggle or challenge!

I _love_ personality tests. I think they're tremendously helpful for learning about different ways we interact as humans and how we may approach situations differently!

Full storyI like to get feedback when its given…
Being called out for a mistake in a public slack channel doesn't feel good to me, but any other means of communication is great! Especially if I can easily understand the tone and context. I've had the most productive conversations about feedback when it's approached from the POV of a curious scientist rather than an angry coach. If the feedback is significant or difficult, give me some time to reflect/process and ask follow-up questions!
Full storyMy superpowers
I'm pretty sensitive to moods and interpersonal dynamics, so I'm usually quick to notice when things feel tense. I weirdly enjoy having tough conversations to resolve those kinds of issues. I'm working on not over-identifying with other people's struggles/challenges, but I'll often take on more work if it means I can make someone else's job easier. I also take pride in being a team builder and someone who seeks opportunities for others to showcase their strengths. When everyone can bring their A-game to the table, that's where the magic happens.
Full storyThings that deeply motivate me…
I LOVE getting to build things in really collaborative settings. Sometimes I have to remind myself that thinking about ideas and possibilities for the future is great (and important), but immediate priorities should be tackled first. I feel empowered when I'm asked to make decisions or provide input, but I'm even more motivated when I can help someone else accomplish a goal or work through a problem.
Full storyYou will make my freakin day if you…
I really like getting feedback directly 1:1, but unexpected Slack shoutouts are always a lovely surprise as well! I feel most confident when someone trusts me enough to confide in me or invites me to brainstorm ideas and solutions.
