What I'm like at work
I try to put myself in everyone's shoes and meet them where they're at. I really stress the importance of everyone feeling heard because I hate being misunderstood and communication is one of the biggest reasons teams can fall apart. And I definitely have the mentality of "how hard can it be" so I often take on challenging projects because I love finding creative solutions to problems and it gives me a chance to collaborate!

I think something that does tend to set me back a little bit is needing to know all aspects of a project before I make a decision. I like to try to make sure nothing can go wrong but that's an impossible standard. I think also sometimes listening to too many opinions can make me unsure of myself but I'm learning to trust my knowledge and expertise so I can maintain my vision and relate that to people I work with.

My heritage and culture mean a lot to me and Malawi is very much a culture that values community and giving so whenever those things align with what I'm doing professionally it makes me feel fulfilled. I want to be better than what came before me and I love knowing that what I'm doing can make someone's day or quality of life even a little bit better. I also really value education and I think it's important that no matter what I'm doing I'm learning something new. Whether it's a new skill, or receiving feedback for growth, or just reading.
