Office & Executive Administration
SavATree
Greetings! I'm Francesca - a customer experience superstar with high competency in other areas including team management and retail & office operations. I am obsessed with all things personal finance plus have an interest in (but not necessarily knowledge of) design (design of all things: home interiors, user experience, etc). My career started out in retail (after life guarding at the local water park, of course) and to be honest, I didn't even recognize it as the start of my career at the time. I was in college, working on my bachelor's degree, and not realizing that the skills I was getting paid to learn on the job would far outweigh my college education looking back. As I got a bit older and wanted my weekends back, I took my first administrative role for a commercial HVAC, plumbing and & sprinkler company named lovingly after the song "Crossroads" by Eric Clapton. My official title was "Operations Coordinator" which wasn't wrong, but not exactly inclusive. As the only on-site member of the office team, I did it all. Physically going to contractor's offices asking where our payment is (boss' orders), reviewing and interpreting legal documents on the regular and even heading out to work on an NYC rooftop where I demolished massive air handling units and installed duct work among other physically taxing tasks. Unfortunately, the owner decided to close up a shop about a year after - it's a difficult business and his wallet was drained. Though I had never been let go before, I didn't panic. I quickly secured a waitressing gig while applying for full time work and that's when I became an Arborist Assistance for SavATree. Here I became a scheduling master, learned how to work closely with the same, unchanging people (versus retail turnover) & realized that the NYC Parks Department does not have it together at all. They could probably use my help, but I have no interest. My time at SavATree has benefited me greatly - it got me back up and running financially after a difficult time and taught me more about my strengths & weaknesses in the workplace. That being said, it's a little old fashioned. So I am on the hunt for a hybrid role (NYC area) that will introduce me to any of the following worlds: tech, finance, real estate, interior design. I am still young and need to learn how the modern work space functions before I get left behind. I want to enter one of these industries in a role I know I can deliver in (admin/ops) and it is my hope that, over time, I can see if I fit into any other types of positions. So that's it, that's me! I hope you'll reach out if you want to chat more about the life and times of Francesca Nardone. Take care.
